LISTEN | CONNECT | SERVE

“Trust is earned in the smallest of moments. It is earned not through heroic deeds, or even highly visible actions, but through paying attention, listening, and gestures of genuine care and connection.” Brene’ Brown

PRESCRIPTION FOR HUMAN CONNECTION

PROJECT EMPATHY

Chase and his dad had noticed the homeless population in their area and wanted to do something to help. How can we help? Well, ask them, his dad responded. This was the first spark, the lightbulb, the brisk wind under his tiny cape that inspired Chase and his dad to begin their quest of becoming humble vigilantes on a mission. The Hansen men…

This is Leonard Zalonozik. He is a chronically homeless friend of ours, who is living on the streets of West Jordan & Taylorsville in Utah. He has been pushing his wheel chair backwards along Redwood Road for the last 3 years, surviving day to day.

THE LOWLY AMONG US

Meet Leonard. We have been friends for two years. Recently, we found him at Target recovering from the night. He said he hadn’t slept in three days, too cold, shivering through the night. His home is the concrete in front of an abandoned Rite-Aid in West Jordan, Utah. …

THE ORIGIN STORY by John Hansen | December 24, 2017

In Sept 2013, my little boy Chase and I attended one of the greatest gatherings of heroes in the world, the FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention, the very first one. It was epic.

Chase was four at the time and like little boys often do, he super hero-ed everything, tapping into his inner warrior with his fierce imagination wherever we went. He was always in “Hero Mode” fighting imaginary bad guys, armed with imaginary gadgets and imaginary weapons being a Force For Good in his world of superhero.
